The 3-star Petrinos Lofos hotel was built in 2007 on a site chosen as it is in the centre of the area and can serve all kinds of visitors. 3 km from the hotel the visitor will find the thermal springs of Potamia, as well as the Lafra and Lafrouda wetlands, habitats of a vast variety of birds and fish. Just 6 kilometres away, you can find Mandra beach, followed by Porto Molo and Ai Giannis beaches, while the shore extends up to Abdera and Mirodato beaches. Along this course, you will see the archeological site of Abdera, a place known from mythology and Hercules’ labours, which was to get the man eating Mares of Diomides. Moreover, Abdera is the home of ancient times’ philosophers such Protagoras, Democritus, Anaxarchus and Leucippus. In that area you can find two more natural habitats, Vistonida Lake and Nestos River delta. In Vistonida lake, you will see Agios Nikolaos church, which is under the authority of Vatopedi Monastery of the Athos peninsula, known as Agion Oros.
